Memories of the Planet
Hitomi’s sculptural works are made by the regeneration of her own practice of Jackson Pollock’s action painting, molding and archaeology research: melting the supporting medium, filling paint into the craters or scratches, then digging them out.
They are traces of resistance and the whole process is aiming to rediscover something solid and valuable.
