Memories of the Planet
Hitomi’s sculptural paintings are made using her original molding technic: melting the polystyrene by dripping glue. Then she takes off paint from the supporting medium.
Her paintings indicate the fragility of a peaceful flat state, nowadays, because of pollution, terror, political decisions or economic crisis, there are little ground where our security is assured.
However, by digging the supporting material like an archaeologist, the artist rediscovered paint layers that, to her, are representing value in life and humanity.
